The second version of the 996 was naturally developed with “four-wheel drive”. As far as safety is concerned, four-wheel drive is a plus point, but it is not revolutionary either for the new generations of Porsche, since many models are now fitted with PSM as standard or as an option. All the electronics of the 996s now make the vehicle safer and easier to control. For 10,000 € more and a far from negligible extra weight, few customers went for the model, because they found it a little “heavy”.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
