The 6-cylinder 914 was a great failure for Porsche and found no audience, above all because of its disappointing performance compared with the 4-cylinder versions, but mainly because of the off-putting price of this small Porsche, which was aimed mainly at a more mainstream clientele. The price was too close to that of the Porsche 911 2.2 T, and the car with the Volkswagen logo on the boot lid failed to establish itself despite its Porsche engine. The 2.0-litre, 110 hp flat-6 was a little too docile, which was however offset by low fuel consumption and great flexibility. The car was sold mainly in the United States.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
