In 1986, Porsche launched a final evolution of its S model (sometimes also called the 928 S2), which produced 10 hp more and featured a few small engine modifications (switch to direct injection), before major changes were introduced to the 928 range from 1986 onwards. A 288 hp version should also be mentioned, sometimes referred to as the 928 S3, which is a double-overhead-camshaft, four-valves-per-cylinder model with a catalytic converter, intended for the American market.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
