Although the lines of the Porsche Cayenne are reminiscent of those of the previous model, numerous novelties are hidden beneath the bodywork. The completely new structure of the Cayenne is made up of 47% aluminium. The marque has given the model a certain 911 air by fitting it with rear-wheel steering and rear tyres that are wider than the front ones. Another innovation is the PSCB (Porsche Surface Coated Brake), available only with the Cayenne Turbo. It combines classic brakes with ceramic brakes and offers better response and greater durability. And best of all: thanks to its tungsten carbide coating, the PSCB produces ten times less dust than a standard set of brakes. Finally, a Torque Vectoring system makes the Cayenne more agile in corners. With a length of 4.9 metres and a height of 1.7 metres, the Porsche Cayenne is undoubtedly an imposing vehicle. This does not prevent the SUV from being aerodynamic, however, with motorised flaps in the front bumper and an active spoiler adjustable to three positions. Below 160 km/h, the spoiler follows the roofline. Above that speed, it tilts slightly to increase stability. At over 170 km/h, the spoiler acts as a brake. This results in a braking distance 2 metres shorter when the vehicle is accelerated up to 250 km/h. Under the bonnet of the Cayenne there are, to begin with, three engines: a 3.0l single-turbo V6 with 340 hp, a 2.9l twin-turbo V6 with 440 hp (S version) and a 4.0l twin-turbo V8 with 550 hp (Turbo version). The turbos, located in the centre of the V with very short exhaust manifolds, make the mechanicals very compact.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
