Eighteen years ago, Porsche shook the car industry and, in particular, the brand’s enthusiasts with the unveiling of its first SUV. The “Cayenne” broke with all the brand’s codes by offering an imposing four-door, five-seat car in a segment that muscular engines had not yet touched.
This model not only saved Porsche financially, but inspired all the other manufacturers to follow suit, including sporting and exclusive brands. From Lamborghini to Aston Martin, by way of BMW’s and Mercedes’ M and AMG models, there is now something for every taste. The latest noteworthy point: Porsche has just built the one-millionth Cayenne, a GTS as it happens. To appreciate just how emblematic this figure is, you need to know that the famous 911, which reached the market in 1963, hit this figure in 2017, after 54 years on the market!
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
