After the Boxster Spyder (987), the 981 now arrives on the market, a tribute to the magnificent 718 Spyder, which took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1957 to 1963, although that one had only a single hump in the driver’s line of sight. Like the Cayman GT4, the Boxster Spyder has a spoiler that extends across the full width of the bumper to in front of the wheel arches, to strengthen the aerodynamic downforce on the front axle. The large side air intakes are located just in front of the rear wheels, to allow better engine cooling, as well as a twin central exhaust outlet (sports exhaust). In addition, the Boxster Spyder benefits from a sports chassis lowered by 20 millimetres, the uprated brakes of the 911 Carrera and more direct steering. Like the legendary roadsters from the Stuttgart marque (356, 550...), the Boxster Spyder has a canvas soft top that must be operated partly by hand. This reduces the weight of the car and gives a more authentic style. The Spyder Spider Boxer is fitted with air conditioning and a radio, both available as free optional equipment.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
