The 916, which is often rightly confused with the Porsche 914/6, also uses a flat-6 engine, but of a completely different calibre from the 110 hp 2.0L. The 916 has the most powerful flat engine currently available, the one in the 911 2.4 S with 190 hp. Produced in 1971 outside the official catalogue, the 916 received in 1972, for only two examples, the diabolical engine of the 210 hp Carrera RS 2.7. It is understandable that Porsche did not put this car on the market, as it posed a great danger to the 911! Ferdinand Piëch received the first prototype, which bore the nickname “Brutus”, and in total only 11 official examples of this singular jewel were built, most of which were delivered to the Porsche and Piëch family. The beastly looks nevertheless gave rise to countless copies. A Porsche 918 was also built in the form of two prototypes, a 914 with 8 cylinders and 260 hp.

* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
