As Ferdinand Porsche wanted, the 356 continues to borrow many mechanical components from the Volkswagen Beetle, including steering that lacks precision, an ineffective cable-operated drum brake, a non-synchronised four-speed gearbox and a small 1.1 L engine whose output is very limited (40 hp at 4,000 rpm), but which is especially noisy!
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
