It is unique! Although this 911 Sally Special may be a “simple tribute” to an animated film, for collectors it is a genuine work of art. Last night, the car went up for auction at RM Sotheby’s in Monterey and sold for the modest sum of 3.6 million dollars. That is 25 times the price of an ordinary 911 Carrera GTS, which is listed in the catalogue at 149,486 euros. However, it must be borne in mind that this is not just a blue 911. In addition to the exclusive “Sally Blue Metallic” colour, Porsche has also made unique wheels inspired by the iconic “Turbo Twist” models of the 996 generation, the generation on which Sally is based in the film. In addition, all the elements that are normally painted black are colour-matched to the bodywork. On top of this, although Porsche has not modified the headlights of the GTS 992 to make them look like those of a 996, it has made the light clusters chrome instead of black. The final exterior touch is, of course, the tattoo on the underside of the rear wing, identical to the one Sally has in the children’s film. Porsche has also modified the interior of the 911, which features a multitude of exclusive materials, trims and badges. Everything is upholstered in Chalk leather and the seats and door panels sport a black, white and blue pattern reminiscent of the exterior. Other blue details can also be seen on the steering wheel, dashboard and centre console.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
