At Porsche it has become a habit: right after the presentation of a new generation of the 911 GT3, a GT3 RS arrives on the market. A more radical, more powerful and lighter version. In a few words, the road-legal 911 that is best suited to the track. Visually it resembles the recently released 911 GT2 RS, with its bodybuilder wings and a body with numerous ventilation openings. The huge adjustable carbon-fibre wing on the bonnet does not go unnoticed and, under the bonnet, sits the naturally aspirated 4.0 litre of the 911 GT3. Thanks to several mechanical improvements, including replacing the hydraulic lifters with metal ones, the maximum power has increased from 500 to 520 hp. An impressive power output that, as always, is sent exclusively to the rear wheels. The maximum engine speed rises to 9,000 rpm. It sounds like an aural orgasm! Unlike the “normal” GT3, where you can choose between a manual gearbox and a PDK dual-clutch gearbox, the GT3 RS always has just two pedals. With the PDK gearbox it reaches 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 312 km/h. At no extra cost, Porsche offers lucky customers the Club Sport package. It includes a roll cage, a hand-held fire extinguisher, a switch to disconnect the battery and a 6-point harness. For drivers and racers who like to squeeze out every last bit of lap time, there is, at extra cost, the Weissach package, developed by Porsche’s motorsport department to reduce the weight of the 911 GT3 RS. This package includes additional carbon parts for the chassis, interior and exterior, as well as magnesium wheels. In this way, the weight of the 911 GT3 RS drops to just 1,430 kg.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
