The new Porsche 911, codenamed 992, does not evolve dramatically compared with the previous model. It has always been like that with each new generation of the 911, but the 992 perhaps receives the most modest styling changes. We could almost think of a 991 phase 3!
At the front, the new Porsche 911 is very similar to the outgoing model. However, the changes are numerous, with new headlights, redesigned air intakes and horizontal LED daytime running lights. There are also other, more subtle changes, in particular a reshaped bonnet with different lines, while all models now have widened bumpers, regardless of the number of driven wheels.
The most obvious styling changes are at the rear. The most noteworthy is the presence of 3D rear lights joined by a light strip similar to that of the Panamera. We also find a new bumper which, of course, will differ according to the 911 versions.
Inside, the changes are more significant, with a new, more angular dashboard design inspired by the 911s of the 1970s, a new gear lever and a larger 10.9-inch infotainment screen. The slightly longer wheelbase and the 45 mm increase in the front track also promise some improvements in space. We again find the 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder first introduced with the 991 phase 2. The big novelty is the dual-clutch automatic gearbox, as Porsche abandons its excellent 7-speed PDK for an 8-speed ZF.
You will find more information about the 911 Carrera Cabriolet (videos, etc.) on the official website, clicking here .
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
