With the new generation already on the market, the “Type 991” bows out with this last variant, which is distinguished by a legendary headgear. In the end 1948 units leave the Porsche workshops, in an allusion to the date of presentation of the company’s first cabriolet, called the 356 Roadster No. 1, of which only 4 units were produced. The 2019 novelty is also heir to the 1952 356 America Roadster, but the pedigree of this atypical 911 is owed rather to the Speedster 3.2, presented in Frankfurt in 1987. The icon of the “Eighties” began the encapsulation not only of the fabric hood but also of the rear seats, to turn the cabriolet into a strict two-seater, while the windscreen was lowered to make the silhouette more virile. The ecstasy behind the wheel of this limited series has to be earned. This also applies to the singular 6-speed manual gearbox, with which the charming and equally exclusive 911 R, which arrived discreetly on the market in 2016, was content. The German engineers have given preference to pure performance over driving pleasure in order to delight purists. The Porsche 911 Speedster has a chassis derived from the 911 GT3 with rear-wheel steering, carbon-ceramic brakes and a wider track.
You will find more information about the 911 Speedster (videos, etc.) on the official website, clicking here .
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
