A simple facelift can be a pretext for giving even more verve to this sports car, which already has a strong character in its own right. The GT3 3.8 has twice as much downforce thanks to a new rear wing of generous dimensions. Compared with the previous model there is no styling revolution, apart from a new bumper and new headlights which are now surrounded by the classic LEDs at the front and rear. To make sure you do not get the generation wrong, the inscription 3.8 appears on one side of the wing. The new 19-inch wheels are standard in titanium colour. Contrary to what one might suppose, the 3.8 has nothing to do with that of the Carrera S. It has a displacement of 3979 cm3 and is fed by dry-sump lubrication. At idle and low revs the sound is less violent than that of a Carrera S 3.8, but only at higher revs does the GT3 show its full effect, since the first intake throttle does not open until half the rev range, and later hands over to the second. Only at very high revs do both throttles open together. A pleasure for the ears, to savour like musical scores... The latter disappears with the arrival of the GT3 RS 4.0!
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
