Coupé or cabriolet? Porsche has offered the alternative since 1965 with the Targa, a 911 with a fully glazed, openable roof. The Targa 4S features an active chassis. Compared with other 911s, it boasts a set-up that prioritises comfort, but remains that of a thoroughbred sports car. The PASM active chassis offers a basic comfort-oriented setting in normal mode, which switches to a firm damper setting when the Sport button is pressed. 300 individual parts of the roof, which weighs 52 kg, can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 50°C. Watertightness, air pressure and suction at high speeds, sliding, whistling: the engineers have succeeded in eliminating the defects found in sliding roofs. To compensate for the 52 kg, the suspension and anti-roll bars are different from those of the coupé and the cabriolet, in order to provide the best possible ride comfort. An electric blind completes the roof to filter out 95% of the sun’s rays, and a slim front wind deflector prevents aerodynamic noise.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
