At the end of 2001 the new 911s arrive on the market, the 996 phase 2. This new version presents a notable change compared with the previous 3.4. Aesthetically, the front and rear bumpers have been given “moustaches”, but above all the headlights of the 996 Turbo have been adopted, which immediately gives it a more aggressive look and distinguishes it at first glance from a Boxster. The interior equipment has hardly changed, although there is a glovebox above the dashboard. The power has remained almost the same, but the sound is less muted and the road behaviour remains exceptional, the biggest improvement the 996 brought over the 993 in terms of driving. All in all, a good facelift that will suit the model well, although it will sell far less than the first generation because of the shadow the 4S will cast!
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
