The fourth generation of the 911 is no exception: after the coupé, the cabriolet now arrives. As far as mechanics and appearance are concerned, there is nothing to say, everything is similar, but it is interesting to note that Porsche fits all its cabriolets with a hardtop as standard for the first time which, once in place, gives the car a very pleasant coupé look. The 996 is also fitted with roll-over bars and numerous airbags, so it far surpasses its predecessors in terms of safety. The boot with the hood takes up so much space at the rear of the vehicle that, compared with a Boxster, it still offers a lot of additional load space.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
