The 964 generation had brought all-wheel drive to the 911 but, because of too rapid an evolution, it had forgotten what constituted its character: sportiness. With the 993, Porsche set the course again and confirmed that the future of the 911 also lay in all-wheel drive. In September 1994, the new Carrera 4 was presented for the first time at the Paris Motor Show. It has the same mechanical and aesthetic features as the two-wheel-drive version, but introduces a completely revised all-wheel-drive system, 50% lighter than that of the previous model.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
