Only two years after the introduction of the 993, Porsche would make a few changes to the 911. With the introduction of the 285 hp 4S models, the base models also benefited from these technical novelties. Externally, these versions can be recognised by their more rectangular exhaust tailpipes. The 13 hp gained are mainly due to the Varioram system, a system patented by Porsche that changes the length of the intake runners according to engine speed. At 4850 rpm and above 5840 rpm, the electronic control adapts the intake by choosing the ideal runner for the current speed and operating a flap that changes the resonance. The advantage is that an almost optimal tuning of the waves produced by the airflows is achieved and that the degree of cylinder filling is optimal over a wider range.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
