The Targa quietly continued on its way within the 911 family, and sales figures remained high, especially in the USA. However, Porsche continues to expand its product range with special options such as option M637, the “Club Sport” package, which came onto the market in 1987. The Club Sport, lighter and stiffer, is a sort of Carrera 3.2 RS. It is therefore a 911 with the main sporting options, including a front spoiler and a rear spoiler, firmer Bilstein dampers and 16-inch diameter wheels. Although officially there is no mechanical difference between the flat-6 of a Carrera 3.2 and that of a 3.2 Club Sport, a reprogramming of the Motronic retarded the contact-breaker point further and the hollow inlet valves are lighter, which favours operation at high revs. As a result, the real power of the engine can be estimated at 240 hp, that is, around ten more. The 911 Club Sport 3.2 was only built for two years and included 312 coupés, including 53 right-hand-drive cars and one Targa model. In addition, another 28 coupés to US specification (217 hp) are said to have benefited from option M637.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
