The 3-litre flat-six engine of the Porsche 911 SC is closely related to that of the 1974 Carrera RS 3.0. However, at the start of the SC the new engine was less powerful than in the Carrera 3L (180 hp versus 200 hp), and that was a bitter pill to swallow! It was only in August 1979 that power was increased by 8 hp to 188 hp, but it was the premature departure of Dr. Fuhrman in 1980 that allowed Ferry Porsche to put the renewal of the 911 into practice. For the final evolution of the Super Carrera, the 3.0L rose to 204 hp. This increase was achieved through modifications to the ignition and the Bosch K-Jetronic injection, steel (rather than plastic) injection lines and the exclusive use of leaded 98-octane super petrol.
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
