In August 1968, Porsche tried to find a solution to the highly distinctive handling of the Porsche 911. The overhanging engine at the rear of the car makes it very difficult to keep it in a straight line at high speeds. Not to mention its natural oversteer in corners! So the factory engineers modified their flagship model and lengthened the 911’s wheelbase by 5.8 cm, from 2.210 m to 2.268 m. Although 5.8 cm does not seem like much on paper, it is enough to clearly improve the stability of the Porsche 911 without distorting its character, which is all of its charm...
* The weight is the maximum measured weight (EC standard).
** The power figures refer to vehicles with a manual gearbox (except Cayenne and Panamera).
*** The value is the one published by Flat6 Magazine or LVA (average of good and very good), which in our opinion is the closest to the market price, with a slight tendency to overvalue older models. For this purpose, the vehicle is assumed to have covered an average of 10,000 km per year. We do not give any value for current models.
